70 Weeks Prophecy
The Death of Stephen in Acts 7 marks the end of Daniel’s 70 Weeks prophecy. Many believe that the final 7 years of Daniel’s prophecy are yet to be fulfilled and mark the time of Jesus’ eminent return. Well, I do believe Jesus will return, but I don’t pretend to know when, nor do I believe there is anything in Scripture which would indicate when this glorious event will take place. I am not smarter than Jesus, and Jesus told us that neither he nor the angels in heaven know when he will return. If there is something revealed in the Scriptures, then I think it is possible for any of us to understand through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. However, if something is not found in Scripture, God has kept this to himself, and it is not ours to try to figure out. It would be like trying to imagine a new prime color. It simply cannot be done. This, as far as I am concerned, is how we should see Jesus’ return to this earth–we simply cannot determine when this will be. We believe it, but it is not in our power to determine when this will occur.
If this is true, what can we understand about Daniels’ 70 Weeks Prophecy? Well, I have made a few studies about this subject, which anyone who wishes to read may do so by clicking on the studies below. I was very surprised to find Daniel was really pointing to Jesus’ first coming and pointed to certain events within his ministry and to a single event 3 1/2 years after his Resurrection. May God bless all who love his word and submit to the Holy Spirit’s leading.

In your post you stated Jesus began his ministry in 27 AD (which I agree with you on). But in the book of Acts says his ministry started when he was about 30 years old. Now if He was born in 1 AD, He would be about 26 years old when he began. The only way he would be 30 years old is he began 2 BC but that’s impossible because BC denotes before his birth. I just wanted to know your thoughts on this.

According to the Scriptures, Jesus was born before Herod died. Herod died in January of 1 BCE. Jesus was born cir. September of 3 BCE.
The manner of dating from the birth of Christ didn’t originate until long after Jesus was dead. When the research was done, errors were made in dating Jesus to 1 CE. Most scholars date Jesus birth to 4 BCE and some even to 6 BCE.
When counting to Jesus’ ministry there is no year 0, so we loose a year in the math. 3 BCE to 1 CE is 3 years + the additional 26 years to take us to 27 CE and we have Jesus 29 years old and beginning his 30th year at the time of his ministry.

So us being 2011 years into Jesus’s birth is wrong?

How do you feel about that if it’s wrong? I feel weird every time I write down the date now because in my mind I know it’s wrong.

And would this make the older dates for the events in the OT wrong as well. As in 457 BC starting the 69 weeks?

Or 27 AD isn’t the right date for his ministry because everything got moved down when you move the 1 AD mark down to 3 BC.

No, he came on time–we are wrong.

Making the beginning of his ministry 24 AD if moved down 3 years from 27 AD

Alan, I refuse to reply to all this dribble. Get a life man. All this stuff means nothing as far as walking with Christ is concerned. Unless you can come up with something more than what you are offering here, don’t look for any replies.
