70 Weeks Prophecy–Fulfilled!
Most Biblical scholars who view the Scriptures as the word of God do not believe Daniel’s Seventy Weeks Prophecy is fulfilled. They think that the final week of years has been completely separated from the preceding sixty-nine weeks. In this study I hope to show beyond doubt that this understanding is not true. Daniel records that seventy weeks are determined upon the Jews and the holy city (Jerusalem). In other words the seventy weeks will be complete once those things are done that the Lord says will take seventy weeks to fulfill. I’ll begin by quoting the verse in each specific study, and I will discuss each phrase of this Scripture, until we have looked at the whole matter that the angel said was determined upon the Jews and Jerusalem. Remember, if the whole is fulfilled, then the Seventy Weeks Prophecy must, of necessity, be fulfilled. There is no other way of looking at this prophecy. If this is so, we have absolutely no reason to look for a future “strong man” to make a deal with the Jews that would set off a future 7 year period.
Each study below represents six works of God as prophesied in Daniel 9:24. Showing each work has been fulfilled should manifest that the Seventy Weeks Prophecy is complete. The idea that we wait for the future fulfillment of the final 7 years (or the final week of years) is a false doctrine, yet it is believed by the majority of evangelical believers. We need to examine what we believe to make sure it is within the apostolic faith. More care is needed to make sure we are not adding to the word of God, which we are effectively doing when we preach a doctrine the apostles never preached. May all of God’s children consider these things and submit to him rather than the words of mere men.
